Celebrate Salford’s Centenary Through History
Join Langworthy Cornerstone for a special series of FREE Salford Centenary Heritage Walks, celebrating 100 years since Salford became a city.
Running every two weeks from Wednesday 5th August to Wednesday 30th September 2026, these guided walks offer a unique opportunity to explore some of Salford’s most important historic landmarks with knowledgeable local experts.
Each one-hour walk focuses on a different aspect of Salford’s rich heritage, from historic cemeteries and museums to nationally recognised cultural landmarks.

Guided by local historian Graham Ramsden.
Wednesday 19 August, 10-12pm
Salford Museum & Art Gallery
Experience the famous Lark Hill Place Victorian street.
Wednesday 2 September, 1-3pm
Working Class Movement Library
Discover the history of social justice, democracy and working-class movements.
Wednesday 16 September, 11-1pm
Salford Lads Club
Visit one of Salford’s most iconic community buildings.
Wednesday 30 September, Time TBC
Salford Cathedral
Explore the recently refurbished cathedral and learn about its remarkable history.
These walks are free to attend but booking is essential as places are limited.
