Bev Fletcher

CEO

I was the very first manager at LCA, worked here from 2001 – 2004 and then became Chairperson for 8 years so I know and love the Centre, its purpose for local people and I'm back again as CEO after a challenging period for many of us following Covid. Ready to lead the Centre into a more settled time, to meet the needs and fulfil the mission of the Centre, the needs of residents and users of the Centre and develop new activities, support more groups, engage more staff, extend café opening hours, maintain the quality of Centre activity and ensure its sustainability. I have worked on many projects in Salford and supported hundreds of local people in volunteering, training and employment. I was a Senior lecturer in Leadership and Management, a business manager, Director and I have over 30 years of management experience in the VCSE sectors. I was a founder of Salford City Radio, Creative Industry in Salford, and Salford Film Festival, and have supported many small to medium enterprises towards achieving sustainability. I am a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, was born and bred in Salford on Liverpool Street so I returned to work in the same Community and street I was born…just a few years ago.

Dominic Bell

Service Delivery Manager

As Community Development & Engagement Officer at Langworthy Cornerstone, I lead community projects, secure funding, engage residents, and develop activities that improve wellbeing and meet local needs. With over 13 years of experience in community development and wellbeing programmes, I have worked across organisations including Age UK Stockport, Salford CVS, Bolton CVS, and NCT. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Sport Business Management and a Master's degree in Sport, Physical Activity and Mental Health. Alongside my current role, I work as a freelance Mental Health Trainer, supporting individuals and organisations to improve mental health awareness and wellbeing. I am passionate about creating inclusive opportunities that strengthen communities, promote wellbeing, and help people connect.

Karen Dyson

Building Manager

I have lived most of my life in the area around Langworthy and Seedley. I was born just of Cross Lane before moving to the Seedley area. Where I spent my younger and teenage years. I moved across to the other side of the Ship canal for a little while but am now back living within the community of Seedley. I am very proud to be the Co-ordinator at Langworthy Cornerstone and to serve in the community in which I live. When I’m not in work, I am often out and about in the Countryside in my little car, camping and exploring with friends. I love nothing more than warming my feet by a camp fire. Just so you don’t need to ask I sit firmly in the Reds camp!

I have a passion of working with people especially within communities, working as a Volunteer Development makes me feel incredibly lucky because I get to support and see people develop through training, volunteering and improving well-being. I am a Dad with 2 young Children who keep me busy, I love watching my Son play for a local football team and supporting Man Utd.

CRM Data Admin and Communications Officer

I joined LCA to support as an experienced intern during my master's degree In Managing Innovation and Information technology to singlehandedly implement the CRM database and support Organisational KPI reporting. I have over time supported with digital transformation and digital communications, website and social platforms working with staff teams to achieve goals. Supporting the charity's digital systems in terms of change management and process improvements. It is fulfilling supporting the local community and putting old technical skills to use.

I started work here at Langworthy Cornerstone in April and have been loving it. I am working as the Community Connector under the Well-Being Matters programme, supporting people in the community to access support and services they need. I love working with people and am driven in helping people find the community support that is right for them. I have worked in these kind of roles for the past 4 years around Sheffield, Doncaster, Manchester and now Salford! I am new to the area so always looking for recommendations. I love listening to music and cycling my bike in my spare time

Jenny Douglas

Adult Social Care Community Connector

Hi, I'm Jenny, the Community Connector for Wellbeing Matters, supporting older adults across Salford who are referred through Adult Social Care. I have over 20 years' experience working across health and social care and really enjoy working with people, taking the time to get to know them, listening to what matters to them, and understanding what makes a difference in their lives. I support people to explore local activities, groups and services that can help them build connections, try new things, improve their wellbeing and feel more involved in their community. My role is city-wide, supporting older adults across Salford and helping people find opportunities that are right for them. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time in nature with my family, exploring new places and photography.

I have been able to support our local community in Salford by being part of the Board for the past couple of years. I was then appointed as Part Time Receptionist. I enjoy hand crafts and other many other artistic activities and support our craft groups at Langworthy Cornerstone in a voluntary capacity. I am passionate about animal rights and my husband would say I love my dogs more than him!

Hello There, I’m Jane, part-time receptionist. My passion is people and helping them to live their best lives. I’ve worked in the Salford community for many years, signposting people to support services, referring clients to Welfare Rights and Citizen’s Advice Bureau. Empowering people to take control or change things that hold them back. Watching a person grow in confidence and ability is so rewarding and it’s great to play a part in that. Langworthy Cornerstone is full of great activities and support services for people of all ages and backgrounds. There is a great community spirit, everyone is so friendly and welcoming, it’s a great place to work as well as visit as a customer.

I’m Anne. I originally joined Langworthy Cornerstone as their site caretaker. Being local to the centre, I was keen to support my community in different ways so I have more recently taken on the role of our Food Club Co-ordinator. I really enjoy this role, interacting with the participants and signposting them to other services within the centre. As part of the Food Club role, I also supervise a volunteer who supports me weekly. I manage the local exhibitions and gallery space within the LCA building
