exhibitionExploring the Collection: Colour

Join us for ‘Exploring the Collection: Colour’ an inspiring exhibition by two community groups from Langworthy Cornerstone: The Women Into Visual Art Group from the 2023/24 Cohort and the Men’s Group: Talk About It Mate together with students from Pinc Creative College.

To explore this, the Salford Community Leisure Team worked with our groups and gathered their ideas, thoughts and insights into colour and effect on emotions to create the interpretation and the activities. Talk About It Mate focuses on men’s mental health and provides a safe space for men to connect and talk.

They have recently embarked on using art as a therapy with a local artist and are keen to use creativity to explore mental health. Women into Visual Arts and Enterprise are a group of women who use art as a cathartic way to learn and express themselves, developing these skills into business opportunities.

Pinc Creative College is an Independent Specialist College for neurodivergent young people.

Experience the power of art in raising awareness and celebrating life. Don’t miss this special exhibition!

'Her Story': Women Into Visual Arts Exhibition

The Women Into Visual Arts and Enterprise (WIVA) Project pioneered in September 2023.

Local women with little or no experience are mentored through art workshops and business enterprise workshops for a period of 4-6 weeks.

Now a part of the Salford CVS ‘Whose Art, Whose Culture‘ Project, the sessions empower, explore and celebrate the art, culture, and heritage of Salford’s diverse communities.

The Women’s Arts are displayed at the exhibition and all proceeds of sale go to the female artists.

The last WIVA Exhibition titled ‘Her Story’ was held at the University of Salford’s New Adelphi Gallery in Salford.

The previous Exhibition was held at Langworthy Cornerstone Centre on 8th March, 2024 in honour of International Women’s Day.  See the event highlight
