About Women Into Visual Arts (WIVA):
The Women Into Visual Arts Project pioneered in September 2023.
Local women with little or no experience were mentored through art workshops and business enterprise workshops for a period of 4-6 weeks.
This year, WIVA is delivered as the 3rd segment (#ART segment) as part of the #whoseArtwhoseCulture project which is funded by Salford CVS
How the WIVA Project is run:
The women Into Visual Arts (WIVA) classes are going to be run in two sessions , The Art workshops are in the morning 10am-12:00pm, they teach various techniques and a staged approach through to an end product after 4weeks. The sessions are very relaxed; it’s a very cathartic way to learn and express feelings and emotions.
Lunch is provided from 12:00-1:00pm
The afternoon (1:00 pm-3:00pm) is a joined-up self-development and enterprise session to advise participants how valuable their creativity as women can be, working on self-development and how to develop their skills for entrepreneurial goals.
The cohort Last year, had the Art exhibition open day celebrated on 8th March 2024 in honour of International Women’s Day. See the event highlights
